OverviewTully is a town on the southern border of Onondaga County, bordered to the north and west by Otisco and Lafayette, to the east by Fabius, to the south by Cortland County (town of Preble) and to the west by Spafford. The town includes a village also named Tully as well as four hamlets. Tully Lake, the largest of six glacial lakes in the area, is at the south end of Tully. The lakes, collectively known as the Tully Lakes, sit in a wide valley bordered by rounded hills. The area once had a large hotel and was a big tourist attraction. The hotel is long gone, and private cottages that have been passed through generations of families, line the lake. Fishing is extremely popular here, but there is only one public boat launch. There are a number of outdoor areas in the region, such as the nearby Heiberg Memorial Forest and the Song Mountain Ski Resort.
