Welcome to Tully, NY

Overview

Tully is a town on the southern border of Onondaga County, bordered to the north and west by Otisco and Lafayette, to the east by Fabius, to the south by Cortland County (town of Preble) and to the west by Spafford. The town includes a village also named Tully as well as four hamlets. Tully Lake, the largest of six glacial lakes in the area, is at the south end of Tully.

Essentials

Tully has a few small stores in the village, including the Village Peddler country store, a Nice n Easy Grocery, an Aldi grocery store and a Dollar General store. For a greater variety, most stores are a bit of a drive from Tully. For grocery shopping, the closest Tops Friendly Markets stores are in Cortland (16 miles south) and in Syracuse (about 20 miles north).

Recreation & Entertainment

Tully’s attractions are mostly of the outdoor variety, such as Song Mountain Ski Resort, the Labrador Hollow Unique Area, Heiberg Memorial Forest and the glacial lakes in the region.

Transportation & Traffic

Tully has three highways heading north-south through the town: Interstate 81, Route 11 and Route 11A. The east-west highway is Route 80.

Pros & Cons

This is small-town living with plenty of wide-open space. The Tully Lakes are beautiful and a big attraction in warm-weather months. Tully has a small business district, unlike some of the other neighboring towns. The city of Cortland is a short drive south, and the city of Syracuse is a bit further north.
